- HMS BATTLER
- My grandfather served on the Royal Navy aircraft carrier HMS Battler in the Second World War. He was on HMS Battler for the duration of her Second World War service between 1942-1945 - notably around the Battle of Salerno, Italy. He was responsible for HMS Battler Flying Operations and I will write up his HMS Battler notes, letters and diaries on this blog. I will also post the amazing collection of HMS Battler photos that he took and developed on these voyages - trips that covered a large part of the globe. (Though everything is dated +60 years as Blogger will not allow posts to be backdated to the 1940's!) I hope you enjoy this, please feel free to leave comments on HMS Battler stories of interest. It would also be good to hear accounts from other people who were on HMS Battler or related to those who were.
